| dc.description.abstract | Due to limited resources, blood transfusions in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) at Ghanaian teaching hospitals involve warming red blood cells (RBCs) using unregulated water bath methods. This process is slow and inconsistent, delaying transfusions and increasing the risk of adverse reactions such as hypothermia. This project addresses the need for a low-cost blood warming device capable of reliably warming RBCs to body temperature within the time required for patient preparation. The proposed solution aims to provide consistent, safe blood warming while integrating into existing clinical workflows in low-resourced settings. | |
